IAC Annual Christmas Celebration – “Our participants had an absolute blast!”
Joy arrived early this year, and it stayed all day. From the first hello at the door to the final wave goodbye in the car park, this was a celebration we carried home in our hearts.
The Story – Reflected
Why we do this.
Every year, we ask ourselves: what does a truly great celebration look like for our community?
Not a generic party. Not a checkbox event. Something that feels like family.
On December 20, 2025, we got our answer.
What we saw.
We saw face-painted smiles that lasted all afternoon. We saw a jumping castle that didn’t stop bouncing until the very last child was gently ushered off. We saw popcorn and fairy floss disappearing faster than we could make it and we loved every second of restocking.
We saw a 360° photobooth spin participants, families, and support workers into a dizzy, laughing circle of light. We saw live performances that turned our venue into a stage where everyone not just the performers felt like a star.
But more than that…
What we felt.
We felt a mother exhale a long, slow breath because for a few hours, she didn’t have to explain her child to anyone.
We felt a support worker high-five a participant they’d supported for years, not as a client, but as a friend.
We felt the room go quiet during a quiet moment a hug that lasted a beat longer than usual, a whispered “thank you,” a shared laugh over spilled popcorn.
What we remembered.
Independent Ability Care was proud to host this day. But the truth is, our participants and their families made this day.
They showed up. They trusted us. They danced, and ate, and spun, and smiled not because we asked them to, but because they felt safe enough to be fully themselves.
That’s the real gift of the IAC Annual Christmas Celebration.
Not the decorations or the food. Not the photos or the video reel.
It was the reminder that community isn’t a word on a website. It’s the feeling when nobody wants to leave.
Until next year.
The fairy floss is gone. The jumping castle is deflated. But the joy?
The joy is still here. And it will be until we gather again.
